Official Presentation of the Compilation of Guinea-U.S. Bi and Multilateral Treaties

Public Affairs Officer Andrew McLean presents the compilation to Ambassador Baldé.

Following up on the Thurgood Marshall Information Resource Center (IRC) collaborative programming with the Guinean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Director Aissatou Bah accompanied the U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Officer (PAO) Andrew McLean and the Political Assistant to deliver a volume of 759 pages containing treaties, accords and conventions between governments of Guinea and the United States of America to the Director of the Guinean National Bureau of Judiciary and Consular Affairs. This compilation was produced in the IRC Conakry product in collaboration with the brilliant Dakar based  Information Resouce Officer (IRO) Stephen Mallinger. The event took place on April 30, 2008 and gathered the entire bureau staff including Director Diao Baldé, his assistants and other important figures from the Ministry.

Thanking them for the warm welcome, PAO McLean renewed once again the availability of the U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Section to their institution and encouraged them to take advantage of the endless resources in the IRC including the lending library, internet computers with US Department of State web sites, and the well equipped English language laboratory. While presenting the IRC products, PAO McLean encouraged them to take also advantage of other services that his skilled and dedicated staff is ready to provide. The IRC Director showed them e-Journals and other materials available through the IRC. She also spoke to them about short training presentations that the IRC can offer in their own offices.

Deeply appreciating this gift, Ambassador Baldé said that he lacked words to thank the US Embassy PAS in Guinea for this “treasure”.
